[iz-oh-bell] [more-re-gan] [burn]
–proper noun
1.
short, irish redhead. defiant, scrappy, mouthy; may or may not be seen with a camera.
01 MAY
COUNTY MEATH, LEINSTER, IRELAND:
Isobel Byrne is born, nameless, soon to be parent-less, and screaming her lungs out. With a young ass mother and a deadbeat father, sounds like the same old cliche, yeah? Well, the story's pretty damn stereotypical, up to the point of said young-ass mother's decision to give her beautiful, red, wrinkly, squalling, ginger brat up for adoption. That's what you do when you're sixteen, single, and desperate (fuck that anally religious, uptight family of hers, anyway). Oh, but don't go thinking it was an act of selfless compassion- it wasn't as if she did it to ensure a better life for her child or anything, she was just trying to get out. Don't go judging now, because it was all for the best, really. You'll see.

–adjective
1.
conforming or adhering to accepted standards, as of conduct or taste: conventional behavior.
CHILDHOOD
DUBLIN, IRELAND:
It can never be said that Isobel's family is, in any way, conventional. Having been adopted by Aedan and Padraic Byrne before she could talk and walk, she was raised in a household where having two daddies was perfectly normal. In some ways, it was advantageous; "prejudice" might as well be a foreign word, for all that it means to her. She's a relatively accepting person, unaffected by the (what she considers) irrelevant differences in people that others might ostracize them for. In this way, growing up in predominantly Catholic Ireland, she differed from the majority of children her age. Aside from simply being the "weird kid", Izzie had two fathers, and that alone made her freakish- different -and being different is one of the worst crimes of childhood. Always quick to anger with that typical Irish hotheadedness, she never hesitated to jump to the defense of her adoptive family. Although quite small, she was a quick little mite, and managed to hold her own against the schoolyard bullies that dared to tease her. Because of this, Izzie was never a favorite of her teachers, and was often viewed as a trouble-maker. Fortunately, it never seemed to bother her, and she's developed a slightly disdainful attitude toward most authority figures due to this.
She doesn't take shit from anyone, and man, she's not afraid to throw a punch or two. No girly fighting for this one.
Needless to say, she was never particularly popular among her class-mates, and never felt the need to seek friends elsewhere. Isobel was an independent, imaginative child, preferring her own company to that of others, with the exception of her parents. They share a close relationship, still do, in fact, and she's always felt free to share everything with them. They empathized with their daughter, and encouraged her in the best way they knew how- through art. Izzie was born an artist, interested in everything from sketching to music, but when she picked up her first camera, her true passion was discovered; she can't remember a time when there wasn't a camera somewhere close at hand.

–noun
1.
a point at which a decisive change takes place; critical point; crisis.
TEEN YEARS
DUBLIN, IRELAND:
Let the senseless rebellion begin!
All teenagers have a stage, right? Well, this was Izzie's. Drinking, partying, boys, hell, girls- she did them all. There may have even been a tattoo, piercing or two thrown in there, somewhere... Point is, she was a wild child. Hung out with the wrong crowd, got talked into drugs, and the like. The surprising thing was that the drugs didn't have too much of a lasting effect. Sure, they were fun as hell at the time, but it was the alcohol that really took her down. For a while there, she struggled with it, and eventually had to be placed in a rehabilitation center after a failed running-away attempt. Worst fucking year of her life, as she claims, and with absolutely no desire to go back, she tries to refrain from drinking. Of course, it doesn't always work out, but she's also managed not to revert back to the slobbering drunk she used to be, but it's something Isobel's always struggled with. Fucked up or not, at least she didn't manage to get knocked up, right?
So, by the time her nineteenth birthday rolled around, she was doing okay. Being a good girl, living with her dads, even making a bit of money selling her art. That was about the time Live Young Records hired her on as a photographer. It seems that all young people are eager to leave familiarity behind, and being no different, Izzie took off out of Ireland as quickly as possible. She's been with the company for the past two years, tagging along after various bands. It's fairly recently that she's been with Be Ambitious Boys, and honest to God, she's fucking excited for this tour.
